La estudiante del mes agosto!!

Bienvenida to our new student of the month!!  She is a sixth grader here at ALA who is excited to learn new things!  She is on task and has a bright smile every day!  She is one of five children.  They have a dog, a bird and four fish as part of their family as well.  She enjoys drawing, reading, camping, and rock collecting.  Some of her favorite movies include Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, and all the X-Man movies.  She listens to latin :), classical, rap and country music!  One of her traditions is making pies for Thanksgiving.  She has been to New Mexico, California, Colorado, and Las Vegas.  When asked what she likes most about ALA she says, "The attention towards academics for each student at their own learning pace."  Wow, what a phenomenal student we have here at ALA!  Thank you for being a part of our school and our Spanish program!!!  Congratulations!!

Our student of the month is a third grader who loves to smile and speak Spanish!  She is ready and on task to learn everyday!  She is a great leader here at ALA!  In fact, when asked what she likes most about ALA she says, "The Seven Habits."  She is from a family of six.  She also has several pets such as a dog, a ginuea pig, a fish, and a snail.  She enjoys coloring, playing outside and reading "The Boxcar Children."  Her favorite movie is "Spy Kids 3."  She has traveled quite a bit to places like Pennsylvania, New York, California, and Washington D.C.  Thank you to our Spanish Student of the Month!  Congratulations!

Our April student of the month is a first grader who has shown great interest in Spanish here at ALA.  She is ready in leadership position and participates by raising her hand.  She reviews her words so that her Spanish foundation is firm!  Our April student of the month comes from a family of four girls and one boy.  She has twelve pets: horses, chickens, dogs, and guinea pigs to name a few.  In her free time she enjoys riding her horses.  She likes to eat pizza and listen to country music.  Her favorite books are "Tickle Monster" and "17 Things I'm not Allowed to do Anymore."  She has been to California, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Mexico, The Petrified Forest, and The Grand Canyon.  When asked what she likes most about ALA she says, "Spanish Class!!"  We are so proud of our April student of the month!!  :)

Student of the Month - marzo!

March's Student of the Month is a third grader who demonstrates excellent leadership skills in Spanish class.  When asked what he likes best about ALA he says, "Everything!"  He is a very optimistic young student who loves soccer and baseball.  In his free time he likes to play video games.  He is one of five in his family with one brother and one sister.  He enjoys eating pasta and listening to Yoda.  His favorite movie is Iron Man 2 and his favorite books are Flat Stanly, The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Legos.  He has traveled much as a young student to places such as California, Alabama, Georgia and Washington.  Congratulations to our Spanish Student of the Month de marzo!! :)

FEBRUARY'S STUDENT OF THE MONTH!!!

Our February Student of the Month is a cute kindergartner who is a great example of leadership in our Spanish class!  She enjoys speaking Spanish and earning participation tickets!  If you see her, she usually has a smile on her face and a "Buenos Dias" to share with everyone!  She is one of eight children, with a baby brother on the way.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with family, playing dress up, coloring and putting together puzzles.  She also enjoys reading with her mom.  She is a big fan of Scooby Doo animated movies.  He favorite food is pancake on a stick and favorite book is the Bible Stories.  She has been to Disneyland and Legoland.  If you were to ask her what she likes most about ALA she would say, "Getting to go to school with my brothers and cousins."  We are so proud to have our dear Student of the Month a part of ALA!!!!  Congrats!!!

Christmas skits!! December 2011

Feliz Navidad!!!  Ok, Feliz Año Nuevo!!! :) The fourth and fifth graders worked very hard in December to produce skits for our Spanish class.  You will be proud of your children as you see them synergizing and speaking Spanish in their classrooms.  All four classes did such a great job that it was difficult to decide which class would be spotlighted on the ALA Spanish blog.  This activity became a WIN-WIN for each class, and we are publishing clips from all four classes below.  I want to especially thank one of our many dedicated parents here at ALA who took the time to splice these videos and make it possible to post all four classes!!!  Thank you Mrs. Thompson!!!

JANUARY'S 2012 STUDENT OF THE MONTH!!

January's student of the month is a fourth grade Spanish student.  He is very respectful in class and shows great talent in speaking and understanding Spanish.  He has ten chickens and a dog.  He enjoys basketball, reading and all sorts of sports.  He loves Italian food and listens to country music.  His favorite books are Eragon, the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson series, and Redwall.  He has been to Hawaii, Kentucky, Utah and California.  The one thing he likes most about ALA is his friends.  Congratulations to our Spanish Student of the Month!!  Thank you for being a Leader in Spanish class at ALA!!!
